During the event you’ll have the opportunity to find out more about developing a career in FinTech. Moreover you’ll be able to attend one of the two hands-on workshops in which you can either learn about what’s new in Java 9 and JShell or discover how Visual Recognition and Machine Learning can be applied in the banking field. Magdalena Dima, Technology Manager at DB Global Technology, will present “Ladies Career Path in FinTech” and she’ll talk about how you can develop a career path in Tech, in the banking field, and especially at DB Global Technology, starting from school education towards what it means to manage people and projects. Magdalena is a software development and delivery professional, with 15 year experience in the technology field, starting from development and going further to technical lead, project lead and technology manager. Passionate about innovation and education, with a 5 year experience in banking software, Magdalena joined DB Global Technology in 2016 and she is currently managing people, processes and project deliveries.

The first workshop “What’s New in Java 9?” will be held by Ana-Maria Lepăr, Development Manager Interim – Legal department at DB Global Technology and she’ll present the Java 9 Console and JShell – getting started and examples. Ana-Maria is a software development engineer and a skilled trainer who coordinates projects and teams in the Legal Department at DB Global Technology. Motivated by continuous development and willing to share her knowledge, she constantly delivers presentations for her colleagues and was also a mentor for the students enrolled in Java School, the internship project run by DB Global Technology.

The second workshop “Machine Learning: 3 Visual Recognition APIs” will be held by Ruxandra Creangă, Technology Manager at DB Global Technology and will dive into the following topics: introduction to Machine Learning: use & applicability; TensorFlow installation, models comparisons with IBM Watson and Microsoft Azure API, examples of usage in the banking field and in Deutsche Bank. Ruxandra is a software development professional, passionate about technology, having covered roles ranging from software developer, support engineer, delivery and people manager, experienced with J2EE development, Oracle SQL/PLSQL Devops practices and systems integration. Ruxandra is curious about IT in general, she likes playing with new technologies and is seeking opportunities to improve the products built by DB Global Technology teams. During the last year she worked on making Elastic stack part of the projects she works on at Deutsche Bank and on introducing continuous integration as part of the daily job.
